  • Naturopathic Medicine is an alternative approach to healthcare. Naturopathy focuses on finding the root cause of disease and correcting the ailments with holistic modalities that compliments the natural healing abilities of the body.

  • Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are similar in the basic science studies of medicine to that of Medical Doctors (MDs). Both doctors attend a 4 year accredited medical school, however NDs are not required to complete residency programs upon completion. NDs tend to take a more holistic approach to health by finding the root cause of disease and correcting it by using their knowledge of herbal therapies, nutrition, physical medicine and counseling, whereas MDs tend to focus on a biological approach including more pharmaceuticals. NDs also tend to work more in out-patient clinics and not hospitals. Both doctors go through rigorous training and complete board exams in order to be licensed.

  • Yes. If a Naturopath is practicing in a licensed state that authorizes prescribing rights, they may include and manage pharmaceutical treatments. However, not all states allow NDs to prescribe pharmaceuticals and/or controlled medications.

  • Yes. Many Natruopaths use labs and imaging to help assess and diagnose ailments.

  • Yes. Many Naturopaths are credentialed with insurance companies.

  • Yes. I accept payments plans for office visits, however nutraceuticals, labs and imaging are not included in payment plans. Please contact the office for further information.

  • Your first visit generally is to establish care. During the visit I learn about you, your health goals, your health history and important details that may affect how I approach your health concerns. I spend about one hour for new patient visits and about 30 minutes for follow up visit. However times may vary depending on complexity of concern.

  • Naturopaths use non-invasive approaches to health that prevent, treat and improve the mind, body and spirit. They focus on preventative medicine and consider the entire body and organ systems to optimize your health goals.
